I've created this page because I want to make a difference. I'm inspired by the work of beyondblue and wanted to support them by raising money as part of my participation in The Hapalua Half Marathon. Most people in Australia have been affected by anxiety and depression in some way, whether through personal experience or through family, friends or work colleagues. In any one year, around 1 million adults in Australia experience depression and over 2 million experience anxiety.
By joining or supporting Team beyondblue you're helping to improve the lives of millions of Australians affected by depression, anxiety and suicide.
This year, we’re aiming to raise more than $50,000 in the Honolulu Marathon and Hapalua Half Marathon! These funds will help us to deliver our 24/7 phone and online Support Service (which provided advice, support and hope to 170,000 people in 2015); innovate and deliver new services and programs; distribute free information resources and share powerful stories of hope and recovery across Australia; roll out evidence-based campaigns; fund world-leading research and advocate for all people in Australia affected by depression, anxiety and suicide.
